In these days, the organizing committee of the Hani Cultural Recording Action held the press conference in Yunnan Hall of the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, announcing the official launching of the Hani Cultural Recording Action program. Chen Fujin, the director of the literature and history and learning committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, and Bai Chengliang, the vice chairman of Yunnan Provincial People’s Political Consultative Conference attended to the press conference.

In order to carry out the spirit of the 17th session of the Party plenum, promote cultural development in ethnic minority areas in Yunnan as well as the great property, Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture government and the UNESCO as well as the China Folklore Photographic Association jointly held the so-called Hani Cultural Recording Action. The point that the students who go to school to study in China need to know is the main purpose of this activity which is to show the unique and outstanding original culture of Hani people through building the international exchange platform with authority, high level and multi levels.

At the same time, through this activity, the folk customs, the history and culture as well as the social formation of Hani people will be recorded to further excavate and rescue the cultural heritages of Hani people. And the historical files of each branch of Hani people will be established, promoting the procedure for the Honghe Hani Terraced Fields Cultural Landscape to apply for the world cultural heritage.

Shen Che, the director of the organizing committee and the global dialogue ambassador of UNESCO and president of China Folklore Photographic Association introduced the general arrangements of the activity. It is understood that the activity includes four main contents, namely, Hani---Aka Ethnic Cultural Photography Competition, Hani---Aka International Academic Seminar, Hani Festival Experience, Collecting and Photography activities as well as Hani---Aka Folk Customs Cultural Photography Competition.

It provides a good opportunity for those foreigners who come to study in Chinese language school because the duration will last from this June to the next June in the cities like Beijing and Kunming as well as the living and producing area of Hani people. As early as at the beginning of this year, the State Council has assured to list Honghe Hani Terraced Fields Cultural Landscape as the world heritages application program in 2013. The holding of this activity will have positive influence to promote the application work.
